I followed the site steps to install the gpSP (GBA emulator) on the GP2X. I download gpsp.cfg.zip and gba_bios.bin.

When I place these two files on my SD card and run wiz, there is no files in the folder to run?

What am doing wrong? I would love to play GBA roms....please help

I'm not sure if this version will work for you ... but the one I have is 16kb in size, last modified 10/3/2009. Anyways, here is a link to the file:

Lemme know how it goes!

I cannot find a proper gba_bios.bin whatsoever. I constantly am getting errors telling me it's the wrong one and to run at my own risk (I don't remember the exact wording). Can someone please tell me where to find a good gba_bios.bin please? Thank you!

It looks like you're missing a number of files in the emulator's root directory. Be sure to download gpSP from Openhandhelds and extract the entire contents of the .zip file into the emulator's root directory. You need more than just several example files which I had listed.

Also, the gpsp.cfg.zip file which I have offered on this site is not the original emulator - it is merely a replacement for the original configuration file which comes with it.

I hope this makes sense. Please let me know how it goes !

Thanks for your speedy reply.
I follow your folder setup but still does not work.

1) When I downloaded gpsp.cfg.zip from your site link and upzip it I only got one folder: gpsp.cfg
2) To find the gba_bios.bin file I do a google search and find one which is 16,384 bytes in size (this to me sounds like the right size as I know there is a correct and incorrect ones out there.)
3) your gpsp.cfg.zip come with no gpsp.gpe file so I try two versions (one from openhandhelds.org) which do not work.
4) I download 3 example roms from doperoms.com (which I think are ok but ever played them yet)

thus I have do all the steps (see image) http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/2908/pixth.jpg

Finally I think the only way to get this to work is get/download a EXACT copy of your three files which I would be very grateful for...

Hi Stew -

For the file gpsp.cfg.zip, make sure that you take gpsp.cfg out of the .zip file so that it sits in the main gpSP emulator directory.

And just so I know what setup you're currently running, can you confirm that you have the emulator and rom files placed in the SD card as follows:

Main Emulator Folder:
(root)/game/gpSP (you can have the last folder gpSP named however you would like)

Examples Within Emulator Folder:
(root)/game/gpSP/gpsp.gpe
(root)/game/gpSP/gba_bios.bin
(root)/game/gpSP/gpsp.cfg
etc

Example ROMS for gPSP:
(root)/game/gpSP/roms/Mario Kart - Super Circuit.zip
(root)/game/gpSP/roms/Street-Fighter 2 - Turbo Revival.zip
etc
